RIDING WITH RYAN FROM FORTNINE
After covering 4,500 kilometres in ten days across Scotland, Ireland and Wales, Adam Riemann rolled into the Adventure Bike Rider Festival in Warwickshire with his 1992 Africa Twin, The IronHorse, still running strong. Parking her at the Alpinestars tent, he headed straight to the main stage to join someone he’d long admired and found truly inspiring, Ryan F9 from FortNine! Meeting for the first time just minutes before their joint interview, the two immediately clicked, setting the tone for an epic weekend.
Before teaming up with Ryan for a ride, Adam hit the trails with long-time mate Geoff Walker, Suzuki race team owner and former media-launch partner-in-crime. Geoff had brought along his race-tuned Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, and in his hands the bike looked more like a nimble enduro than a middleweight adventure machine. With its suspension dialled and power sharp, Geoff showed exactly what the V-Strom could do.
One of Adam’s festival high points came when he and Ryan took to the trails together. In his jeans, with no time to change into his riding gear, Ryan swung a leg over one of Geoff’s bikes while Adam followed on the IronHorse. It wasn’t a contest, it was a session of pure riding connection and fun.
Off the bikes, conversation turned to an idea to ship the IronHorse to British Columbia for a FortNine/Motology adventure across Ryan’s home territory. From glacier crossings to high-country trails and maybe even a coastal run from California, the seeds for one of Motology’s biggest collaborations yet have already been planted.
For now, the IronHorse is back in its crate. The UK lap is done, the festival delivered, and riding with Ryan made it a trip worth every kilometre.
