IRONHORSE GOES INTERNATIONAL
The IronHorse Goes international! The build of my Honda XRV750 Africa Twin 1992 has been a mission of pure determination, and now, the final stage takes this beast beyond Australian soil. After countless hours of fabrication, fine-tuning, and testing, it’s time to pack her up and send her off on the next chapter of this adventure.
Crating a custom-built motorcycle isn’t as simple as rolling it into a box. The IronHorse needs to be secured for the long haul – every strap tightened, every fastening checked – to ensure she arrives unscathed. And when it comes to handling this job right, the only freight forwarders I’ve come to trust are Bikes Abroad. With the crate sealed, we head to Fremantle shipping port, the gateway for cargo leaving Australian shores.
Here, the process shifts from grease-stained hands to paperwork and customs clearance. This isn’t just any motorcycle; it’s a one-of-a-kind machine with a serious mission ahead. Port officials give it the once-over before it’s cleared for loading, and from there, the IronHorse is hoisted onto a vessel bound for the Northern Hemisphere. That’s right, the IronHorse off to the United Kingdom where I’ll be reunited with it to start my journey to the ABR Festival where I’ve been invited back as a guest speaker.
This is where the next phase begins – across the ocean, a new continent awaits, and with it the real test for the IronHorse.
The IronHorse Goes international: Stay tuned, because the adventure is only just beginning.
