TROUBLE IN THE DESERT

Now over 10’000km into the journey through central Australia, I’m pushing my old XRV750 through problem after problem in the middle of the Great Sandy and Gibson desert. In this, episode 6, I’m on a mission to get across the Northern Territory and begin the longest, most remote section of Western Australia … crossing through the Gibson Desert.

Adam, Thanks so much for your videos. Owning an RD03 and RD04 I know extactly what it takes to remove a tank full of fuel (why did Honda make those bottom tank mounts so inaccessible?) and repair a radiator.

I’m actually shocked that you didn’t have any CDI ignition troubles with all the corrications and vibes. Seems to be a problem with those bikes.

I’ve rebuilt both of mine and every part has passed through my hands so I can directly relate what you’re doing. Just that I didn’t do it on a sandy track when it was 38 degrees outside. Great job keeping your cool with those repairs.

For all of us crazies who are still riding around on old Africa Twins – a hearfelt “Well Done”
