BATTLE OF REPUTATION – Honda XL versus XRV

BATTLE OF REPUTATION - XL v XRV

This episode takes on the epic trails of Wales and becomes a battle of reputation between a Honda XL and XRV.

After 4000 kilometers of road-tripping across the UK, Adam Riemann finally arrived in Wales, home to some of the most challenging and exhilarating adventure trails in the world. And what better place to push the limits of two iconic motorcycles? Here, he meets up with Lell Pavey, an avid rider and fellow content creator, who’s just taken delivery of the brand-new “Tranny” Transalp XL750, Honda’s latest flagship adventure bike.

As fate would have it, they’re not just riding together, they’re in for an accidental bike battle between two legendary Hondas, separated by 33 years of engineering evolution. Adam on his trusted 1992 XRV750 Africa Twin, also known as the Ironhorse, while Lell pilots his shiny new Tranny XL750. Despite the age gap, both bikes share the same Honda spirit, designed to conquer the rugged terrains of the world, just in different eras.

Wales doesn’t hold back. Its rugged mountain ranges, deep forests, and twisty trails challenge both riders and machines. Together, Lell and Adam push these two bikes to their limits, carving through mud and climbing steep ascents. The difference between the two is obvious, while the Ironhorse feels vintage and solid, its age showing through the suspension and handling, the Tranny rides like a modern marvel, agile and full of advanced features.

It’s an unforgettable experience. Two bikes, one incredible country, and a story of two machines built by the same company decades apart, yet both designed for the same purpose – adventure. To catch the full ride, make sure to check out the video below for all the action from this epic challenge.
