SURVIVING THE BOG
Surviving the Bog. Ireland’s Wild Welcome.
There’s something about a winding trail that pulls you in. Adam Riemann just crossed the Irish Sea after an epic ride through Scotland, and was chasing dirt the moment he arrived in Ireland. What started as a solo mission up a rugged mountain track quickly turned into one of the most unforgettable moments of his UK tour so far.
Lured deeper into the hills by the promise of off-road freedom, Adam found himself swallowed by an Irish bog, fully loaded on his Honda Africa Twin XRV750 “The Ironhorse“, buried in mud, and miles from anywhere. Just as he was bracing to camp it out alone, the distant hum of dirt bikes cut through the quiet. Moments later, he was rescued by a crew of local Irish lads, proving once again that the best part of adventure isn’t just the destination, it’s the people you meet along the way.
Surviving the Bog is Part 2 of his UK series on the Ironhorse, and it dives into the raw beauty of Ireland’s landscape and spirit. From backroads to bog holes, spontaneous hill climbs to backcountry yarns, this ride captures everything he loves about motorcycle travel. And to top it off, he reconnects with riders he met at the ABR Festival. Now brothers in arms, each of them on their own version of the Ironhorse and Warhorse!
Ireland might be known for Guinness and green hills, but for Adam it’s now the place where the trail truly came alive. Watch the full journey unfold below and catch the rest of the UK series here
