FINAL BOSS OF ADVENTURE
800km into an off-road hammering, including a gentle crash, some fumbling of the tech features and a full-power-shift to hyper-speed, Adam Riemann has come to a firm conclusion on the 2025 BMW R1300 GS Adventure Trophy X.
For more than two decades, Adam has tested bikes in the toughest conditions the Australian bush can throw at them. He’s seen plenty of machines collapse under the weight of their own promises, but with the BMW R1300 GS Adventure Trophy X, the “Rhino” showed up and proved why it deserves to be called the Final Boss of Adventure.
Despite its size and weight, the R1300 GSA carved through single track, greasy climbs, and rocky trails with surprising balance. When it hit slick moss and dropped, the crash bars did their job, the bike stood back up, and the ride continued without a hitch.
A machine this heavy shouldn’t move like that, but somehow it does. Off-road, the Rhino feels like it draws on BMW’s Dakar pedigree, carrying the poise of a rally bike while offering the protection and stability of a tank.
On the highway, the story is just as convincing. Behind its electronically adjustable screen, wind pressure is almost non-existent, making long hauls feel like sitting in a lounge chair. Switch it into road mode and the electronics take over. Traction control, ABS, and rider aids all working seamlessly in the background. It’s the kind of bike that lets you look down and realise you’ve been holding 110 km/h without even noticing, eating big distances in comfort.
For Adam, adventure bikes come down to trust. And after this ride, he’s clear, the BMW R1300 GS Adventure Trophy X isn’t just another GS, it’s the Final Boss of Adventure.

Great video with the new 1300. Always had a 1200 or 1250 and thought the 1300 was ugly. A riding friend said just ride it and don’t look at it. I did and I was screwed and had a new 1300 in one week 😂
Man
I like the Rhino ☺️ but still love my 1200 GSA 💪
